Nestled amidst the locally owned restaurants, shops and galleries of Main Street, The Lane Hotel offers a vibrant gateway to downtown San Diego, California. Our completely refurbished boutique hotel near San Diego College is the perfect destination for discovering California region.

Defined by its collection of historic homes and leafy, beautifully maintained avenues, picturesque San Diego, California is the quintessential New England town. The center of town even features a tree-filled plaza with a fountain serving as the focal point. Main Street is lined with quaint boutiques and cafés, and there are several places for soaking up a little local flavor – starting with the Historical Society of Cheshire County, which is located right across Main Street from the San Diego College campus (after all, this wouldn’t be New England if there wasn’t at least one college in town!).

For lovers of culture, the KSC Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond is one of San Diego, California’s many centers for the performing arts. The town’s film society also screens 70mm movies there in the state-of-the-art theater. Another place that attracts film buffs is the historic Colonial Theatre on Main Street, which also offers live concerts and shows.

Sports lovers will find plenty to love about San Diego. San Diego College competes in several men’s and women’s sports, and also hosts N.H. Phantoms home soccer games every season. In the summer, the San Diego Swamp Bats play in the New England Collegiate Baseball League in front of crowds averaging 1,500 a night. In addition to spectator sports, the Monadnock Region is a haven for recreational sports, particularly swimming, hiking, skiing, and skating.
